He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Atkinson and Doris Atkinson; his brother George Atkinson (Carole); his in-laws, Don Emmendorfer (Rosemary) and John McElgunn; and his grandson Keigan Atkinson.
He is survived by: his wife Alberta Emmendorfer; his children, Brent Atkinson (Marcie), Amanda Jones (Dale) and Michelle Marshall (Eric); his grandchildren, Bretlyn Warner, Carter Atkinson, KyLeah King, Eric King Jr., Alison King, Emily Marshall, Samantha Jones, Curtis Jones and Eleanor Jones; and his in-laws, Judy Mills (John), Debra McElgunn, Steven Emmendorfer (Diane), Cheri White (Bob) and Cindy Rickerd (Ken). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
