He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Allen and Mildred Allen (Conrad); his son-in-law Robert Pratt; and his siblings, Lyle, Larry, Raymond, Archie, Barbara Williams and Norma Harley.

He is survived by: his wife Carol L. Ferguson of Clare; and his daughters, Angela Schort (Filip) of Clare, Korin Pratt of Reed City, Tomasia Guy (Steve) of Hersey and Katherine Kauffman (Lenny) of Houghton Lake.

Memorial contributions in memory of Gene are asked to be directed to the Roscommon County Animal Shelter.

“Carol & Family, Gene was so good to my parents, Cliff & Reba Ross, and they couldn’t have spent as many winters as they did in Florida without Gene and the entire group helping them and watching out for them. Gene was a special person to them and therefore became special to us kids too. My heart breaks for your loss. He will continue to be missed when I recount memories of Mom & Dad as those were their best years.”
