He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilfred Whitehead and Pearl Whitehead (Richter); his wife Phyllis Whitehead; his stepson William Sterling; his brothers, Robert and Henry Whitehead; and his nephew James "Jimmy" Robert Whitehead.
He is survived by: his children, Cynthia Barber (Rick), Donald Whitehead (Maggie), Richard Whitehead and Karen Dunkle (Austin); his stepchildren, Shelly Riedlinger (Tom) and Sharon Glass (Gus); and his daughter-in-law Myrna Sterling. He is also survived by many grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; as well as many other extended family.
