He was predeceased by: his wife Alice; his parents, Leland and Helen; his sister Joyce Young; and his son-in-law Carl Frantz.
He is survived by: his children, Leland Joseph Spangler (Denise), Tracey Natke (Paul), Shannon Frantz and Celene Jackson (Christopher); and his sister Carol Roge. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
