He was predeceased by: his parents, Guadalupe Chapa and Obdulia Chapa (Fuentes); his parents-in-law, Joaquin Guajardo and Consuelo Garcia Guajardo; his brothers, Richard Chapa and Daniel Chapa; and his siblings-in-law, Abel Guajardo (Penny) and Jacqueline Schell.
He is survived by: his wife Yolanda Chapa; his daughters, Tabitha Brinson (David) and Melissa Rodriguez (Anthony); his grandchildren, Eliana Brockman (Andrew), Sophia Brinson and Halen Brinson; his siblings, Joe Chapa (Lydia), Elizabeth Chapa, Elias Chapa (Nancy), Margaret Sanchez and Robert Chapa (Debbie); and his siblings-in-law, Ruth Gearheart (Harold), Debra Chapa, Carmen Chapa and Dan Schell (Sherry). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
