He was predeceased by: his father Thomas J. Hughes; and his sisters, Catherine Anne (Tom Hassett) and Mary Brigid. He is survived by: his mother Phyllis Hughes (McGrath); his brother Tom Hughes (Dea); his sons, Tom and Dylan (Kathy Wentrack); his siblings, Jim (Nancy), Claire (Kevin Devine), Margaret (Andrew McCulloch), Elizabeth (Marshall Robbins), Catie (Bill Kasinak) and Jane (Justin LaBond); his uncle Thomas McGrath; and his friends, Lou Longo, Tom Devine and Ned Devine. He is also survived by 20 nieces and nephews, a great-nephew and great-niece.
