He was predeceased by: his wife Joan; his son Scott; his son-in-law Timothy Root; and his grandson Michael Root. He is survived by: his children, Denise Nagy (Joe), Bruce Dunbar (Judy) and Lisa Root; his grandchildren, Brandon, Amanda (Andrew), Corey, Ryan, Anthony (Amanda), Christopher (Sara) and Alycia (Mark); and his pet Avery-"Bootsie". He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
