He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyman Bowing and Nellie Bowing; his wife Dr. Mary Dorothy Bowling; and his siblings, Lee Bowling and Rebecca Kozma.
He is survived by: his children, Dr. Beth Bowling (Paul Rhodes), Lee Bowling (MaryAnn), John Bowling (Mary) and Lawrence Bowling (Shelia Konen); his grandchildren, John Bowling, Joseph Bowling, Jacklynn Bowling, Quyhn Bowling, Miranda Bowling, Nicole Davis (Robert) and Dr. Alyssa Bowling (Kevin Mulder); and his great grandchildren, Ruby, Zora and Della. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
