He was predeceased by: his mother Elizabeth J. Mackinder; and his brother-in-law Darryl "Mo" Nieman. He is survived by: his father Donald E. Mackinder; his close friend Michelle Carrier; his children, Erin Goss (Steve Chappell, Jr.) and Emily Waldowski (Eric); his grandchildren, Norah and Samuel Goss; and his siblings, Marilyn Nieman (Dean Smith), Susan Kopitz (Greg), Kathleen Hannon (John) and Stephen Mackinder (Mary).
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Bello Woods Golf Course (23650 23 Mile Rd, Macomb, MI 48042).
