She was predeceased by: her parents, Clinton Hoelzer and Edna Hoelzer (Wackenhut); and her siblings, Susie Underwood (Gary), Joyce Thomas and John Hoelzer.

She is survived by: her husband Dale L. Porterfield of Clinton, MI.; her children, Jane Porterfield (Tom Janicki), Sandra Smith (Tim), Jeff Porterfield and Steve Porterfield (Tonia); her grandchildren, Nick (Jillian), Katie and Lindsey (Anthony); her great grandchildren, Gabe, Tatum, Sawyer, Rhett, Kobe, Lennon and Louie; and her siblings, Bonnie Buckmaster (Rick), Tom Hoelzer (Christine Holtz) and Butch Hoelzer.

Memorial contributions in honor of Shirley may be made to the Clinton Fire & Rescue or Hospice of Lenawee.
