He was predeceased by: his parents, James Schofield and Laura Schofield (Graham); his wife Ruth Spencer; and his brothers, Don Schofield and James "Jim" Schofield.

He is survived by: his children, Madeline (Craig Palmer), Bernie (Ed Lepard), Laura (Bruce Austin), Charlene (Al Jones) and John (Trish Schofield); his grandchildren, Todd, Kevin (Jinny), Tony (Laura), Danny (Joanna), Tom (Steph), Heather (Theron), Jason, Josh (Monique) and Tyler; his great grandchildren, Rylan, Aiden, Astin, Ayla, Jenni, Kenzie, Jesse, Faith, Emma, Abby, Kaylee, Theron, Cody, Myles and Jason, Jr.; his sister-in-law Ann Schofield; and his close friend Norma Lee Henderson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
