He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley DeFreese and Carol DeFreese (Dail); and his brothers, DeWayne and Frank DeFreese. He is survived by: his wife Renee Wilson; his daughter Nicole Hasani (Roland); his grandchildren, Luan, Eloise, Emmett and Oliver; his sister Bethany Khouri Townsend (Rick); his niece Kristina DeFreese; and his pet Panini. He is also survived by many extended family members and wonderful friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Homes - Clio Chapel (503 N Mill St, Clio, MI 48420). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, those who desire may make memorial contributions to the Clio Fire Department or the Genesee County Animal Control.
