He was predeceased by: his father Henry G. Thompson; his brother-in-law Marvin E. Morse I. Above; his stepfather Gordon Aylsworth; his son-in-law Dean A. Burwell; his siblings, Dorothy Morse, Sharon Isham and Richard E. Thompson; and his brothers-in-law, Frederick R. Isham and Marvin E. Miller.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Thompson; his children, David B. Thompson, Jr. (Kerry), Cynthia Phaneuf (David), Cathy Thompson and Carolyn Burwell (Ronald Duncan); his grandchildren, Andrew Bellant, Johnathon Thompson (Shannon), Kathleen Brodie, Jessica Thompson, Emily Joy Gifford (Raymond), Emilee Amon (Adam) and Megan Burwell; and his sister Janice Miller. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, Several nieces, nephews, other loving family members and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Leader Dogs for the Blind in Rochester Hills.
