It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Allen Rakes of Clio, Michigan, born in Davy, West Virginia, who passed away on February 26, 2022, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Rakes and Hattie Rakes (Williams); and his siblings, Raymond, Eddie Rakes, Juanita Stanley, Louise Stoots and Pauline Hill.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou; his sons, David A. Rakes, Jr. (Taracina) of Riley and Raymond Ira Rakes (Sonda) of Leonard; his grandchildren, Kailee Rose of Riley, Rayna Rakes of Riley and Ryan Rakes of Leonard; and his brother John Wesley Rakes (Janice) of South Lyon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
