It is with sadness that the passing of Verl Russell Newman of Clio, Michigan is shared. Verl, born on May 16, 1927, passed away on September 12, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Manley Newman and Wilma Newman (Kittle); and his brothers, Delmar Newman and Wayne Newman. He is survived by: his wife Susan King; his daughters, Kathleen Zinn, Sally Newman and Cheryl Larkin; his grandchildren, Travis Belill (Stacie), Jared Petiprin (Claire Guerra), Rory Petiprin (Ali Bunting), Julia Petiprin (Ryan Hall), Suzanne Hudson, Cheryl Czach, Gregory Samanez Larkin (Sylvia) and Allison Larkin; his great grandchildren, Devon Belill, Austin Belill (Alycia), Ebin Petiprin, Gabriel Petiprin, Ethan Verl-Duane Petiprin, Bayliegh Petiprin, Lochlann Hudson, Aleksandra Hudson, Josephine Samanez Larkin, Magnolia Samanez Larkin and Clementine Samanez Larkin; his great great grandchildren, Brodie Belill, Tatum Belill, Oakland Belill and Adaline Belill; and his siblings, Doris Myers and Laverne Newman. He is also survived by Many loving nieces, nephews, other family members and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home, Clio Chapel (503 N Mill St, Clio, MI 48420). A masonic service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Clio Historical Society, Whaley Children's Center in Flint or Meals on Wheels.
