She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Ernsberger and Hazel Ernsberger (Lewis); her husband Wesley Bates; her brothers, Fred Ernsberger (E. J.), Lawrence Ernsberger (Joyce) and Donald Ernsberger; her sister-in-law Ute Ernsberger; and her great grandchild Zach Bates.
She is survived by: her sons, Robert Bates Sr. of Coldwater and Charles Bates Sr. of Coldwater; her sister-in-law Theresa Ernsberger of Coldwater; and her niece Penny Ernsberger St (Greg). She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and many other loving nieces and nephews.
