He is survived by: his friend Jon; his wife Ruby; his son Jon Harpst Jr. (Valerie); his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Morgan and Kameron Miller; his family, Tyler, Katelyn Loehr, Carly Warren Schuett, Jake Loehr, Alec, Nicole, Luke Cramer, Cadence and Bodhi Harpst; his great grandchildren, Isla, Hudson, Reese, Ava, Stella and Stephanie; Lisa Miller (Kurt), Curtis Loehr (Kathy), Eric Loehr (Anne), Kathryn Cramer (Rich) and Harpo.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Dutcher Funeral Home (440 W Chicago St, Coldwater, MI 49036). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
His contributions to Flint and Coldwater will continue to benefit others, particularly through the scholarship program that now carries his name.
