He was predeceased by: his parents, Osker Conkin and Maggie Conkin; and his siblings, Patricia, Linda, Leo, Marion "Frank", George, Donald and Shirley.

He is survived by: his girlfriend Linda Gallert of Coloma, Michigan.; his stepchildren, Heather Smith (Jerame), Joshua Gallert and Jason Gallert; his stepgrandchildren, Brendan Collins (Demi), Madison Gallert and Carl Holloway; his stepgreat-grandchild Nylie Collins; and his sister Lula Poe (Conkin). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
