He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Whitney and Harriet Whitney (Truhn); his wife Mary; his son Tom Whitney Jr.; and his grandsons, Alex Hall and David Whitney.
He is survived by: his children, Kelly Devine and Todd Whitney; his brothers, Gary (Charlene) and James Whitney (Debbie); and his grandchildren, Sammie, Clayton Devine, Sydney Whitney and Shytanna Curtis.
