We announce the death of Burt Maxstan Bentley of Columbiaville, Michigan, who passed away on October 5, 2026, at the age of 82. Burt will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Burt will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Burt’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Bentley and Maxine Bentley (Gulliver); and his stepmother Patricia Bentley. He is survived by: his wife Mary Holmes; his children, Heather Bentley of Lansing and Brent Bentley (Shari) of Sterling Heights; his grandchildren, Jillian Karen, Nathan Bentley and Sara Bentley; and his sister Bonnie Schroeder. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home (1021 S Lapeer Rd, Lapeer, MI 48446).
