He was predeceased by: his parents, John Barren and Betty Barren (Brown); and his siblings, Dan, Mark, Brian Barren and Rosanna Bowsky.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Karnes; his daughters, Christine Collins (Craig Heika) and Jennifer Karnes; and his brothers, Tony Barren (Martha) and Andy Barren (Lisa). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
