He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John and Cecelia; his spouse Lauren; his daughter Johanna Parrow (Andrew Parrow); and his grandchildren, Helen, Henry, Jon Timmer and Arrie TImmer (Jacob Franchak). He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews and extended family.

“Gene and I were in the National Guard , Lapeer Armory together. Joined up about the same time and we went to Basic Training together at Fort Dix , New Jersey . This was in the late 60's . What a Great Guy He Was ! We trained together for six years in the Guard . He was a cook for our Company at the Armory . Always brought donuts for our weekend drills. Yes they were "Dutch Girl Donuts " Gene was a good friend . So sorry for his passing John Trowbridge, Brown City, Mi..”
