He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Nagelkirk and Pearl Nagelkirk Van Dussen; and his siblings, Carol Bond and Thomas Nagelkirk. He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Nagelkirk (Poel); his children, Anne Nagelkirk and Wade Nagelkirk; his children-in-law, Shannon Meyer and Jason Orr; and his grandchildren, Mya, Avery Nagelkirk, Marlow and Knox Orr.
