Ramona O. Tuttle Obituary
A private family gathering will be held and Ramona will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Kalamazoo Animal Rescue or MerkleCell.org, to combat Merkle Cell Carcinoma, in c/o the funeral home.
Age 95, of Comstock Twp., passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday morning, October 8, 2024. Ramona was born in Jayton, TX, on January 9, 1929, the daughter of Wilburn Otis and Bessie (Ferguson) Hamlett. On May 4, 1948, she married Joel Franklin Tuttle who preceded her in death in 2021. Together they celebrated 73 years of marriage. Ramona was a gifted singer. She sang in church choirs, community choirs, theatre performances and with the Sweet Adleines. She also sang at the wedding of her daughter and the weddings of her grandchildren. She could sing a capella beautifully. Following her retirement, she and Joel enjoyed travelling and spending the winters in Florida. Ramona is survived by her children, Christine (Geoffrey) Johnson Huse and James (Jeannine) Tuttle; grandchildren, Kimberly (Kurt) Swan, Robert (Amy) Johnson Jr., Jason (Teresa) Kiewiet and Jeremy (Brandee) Kiewiet; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her husband, Ramona was preceded in passing by her parents; a son, Michael Tuttle; a grandson, Joel Michael Fay-Tuttle.
