Bernard Looks Obituary

Bernard Herman Looks, age 82, of Conklin, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021. He was born in Wright Twp. MI to the late Bernard and Ida (VanOeffelen) Looks.

Ben served in the U.S. Army and was retired from Wolverine World Wide in Rockford where he worked as a Supervisor. After his retirement he continued to stay busy working as the cemetery sexton at St Joseph Cemetery in Wright, St Mary's Cemetery in Marne and the Marne Cemetery as well as working for the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville. Ben was very active at St Joseph Church in Wright where he was a lifelong member and also with the Knights of Columbus Council 4404 where he was a member for over 60 yrs.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his infant daughter Karen Marie Looks, brother Joseph Looks, father-in-law James McCarthy, mother-in-law and stepfather-in-law Louise and Robert Dietrich, brothers-in-law, Eugene Dietrich, Gordon Dietrich, Gerald Triick and Richard Fisher. Ben is survived by his wife of 60 yrs., Rose (McCarthy) Looks; 5 sons, James (Marian) Looks, Ronald (Fran) Looks, Frederick (Brenda) Looks, William (Connie) Looks, Joseph (Shellie) Looks; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Vivian Armock, Alice Triick, Joanne Fisher, Pamela Bergman, Barbara Dietrich and Sheryl Dietrich; brothers-in-law, Jim (Sue) Dietrich, Robert (Judy) Dietrich and Kenneth (Diane) Dietrich; many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. Monday October 11, 2021 at St Joseph Catholic Church in Wright with Fr.

Andrew Ayers celebrant. Burial will be in the St Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday 2 - 6 P.M. at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville and Monday from 10 – 11 A.M. one hour prior to the Mass at Church.

The Rosary will be prayed 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home following the visitation. Memorial donations may be made to St Joseph Church or Knights of Columbus Council 4404.
