He was predeceased by: his parents, Allan Vernon and Aletha Vernon (McNally); his sister Susan Vernon; and his brother-in-law Dale Anger. He is survived by: his wife Kathy (Kathy); his children, Vaughn Vernon (Joyel), Jeffrey Vernon (Kristine) and Valorie Vernon; his grandchildren, Mallory Leed (Mason), Langley Vernon and Luke Vernon; his siblings, Chuck Vernon (Judy), Marsha Anger and Debbie Robinson (Rob); and his brothers-in-law, Mick Kildea (Sally) and Terry Kildea.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Respite Volunteers of Shiawassee County.
