David L Simpson Obituary

David L. Simpson, 68, of Covert and formerly of Coloma died Friday, November 26, 2021, at Watervliet Community Hospital of Spectrum-Lakeland Medical Centers.

Services celebrating his life will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, December 1, at the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Coloma with Rev. Billie Long officiating. Cremation will follow the service. The visitation will begin at Noon on Wednesday until service time. David was born on June 22, 1953, in Benton Harbor to Pat and Billie Simpson. He was a graduate of Coloma High School. David was a machine operator at Nobles Industries for over 15 years before his retirement. Before working there he had been employed at Whirlpool for 10 years and then Lowe's before his employment at Nobles Industries. In his early years David enjoyed riding his motorcycles around the area. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and would do anything for them. The simple pleasures of life brought David his greatest joy; spending a quiet evening with family, sharing a meal and good conversation, having his morning coffee outside in the summer, taking in the smell of honeysuckle, and the peacefulness of his land. He really enjoyed watching his grandchildren play and answering their many questions. His ability to find happiness in the little things in life brought joy to all who were around him. David always spoke highly of his family. He was the "Best Dad" and loved his family.

His family includes his son, Jason Simpson, of Watervliet, his daughter, Jessica (Wilber) Angel-Hernandez of Berrien Center, his 5 grandchildren, Jesus, Jaime, Luis, Aliana, and Isabela, his brother, Donald Simpson, of Coloma and his 3 sisters, Joy (Rondal) Smith of Bangor, Patsy (John) Scott of Covert and Nancy Elston of Bangor.
