He is survived by: his mother Kathleen LaPlaunt (Dubay); his wife Terry LaPlaunt (Shanks); his children, Charles LaPlaunt (Ashley), Matthew Avalos (Catherine), Jeanette Avalos, Jessica Spigelmyre (Walter) and Christopher LaPlaunt (Sara); and his siblings, Darrel (Tammy), Venetta, Michele Merchant (Terry), Teresa Best and Connie Lopp (Daniel). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Pomeroy Funeral Home - Croswell (6 S Howard Ave, Croswell, MI 48422).
