He was predeceased by: his father David Seppala; his grandparents, John, Marie Mlinarcik, Victor and Kathryn Seppala; his aunt Joann Waldo; his uncles, Robert Seppala, James and Horrace Cain; his cousin Nicky Waldo; his parents-in-law, Robert and Dorothy Sawyer; and his stepdaughter Jessica Santovasi.

He is survived by: his wife Teresa Sawyer; his daughter Caitlin Miller (Ross); his mother Adrianne Cheatham (Donald); his stepmother Joanne Seppala; his brother Steve Seppala (Kerry); his nieces and nephews, Sam, Ben Seppala, Eric Sawyer (Alyssa), Andrew Sawyer, Lauren Seppala and Melissa Mueller (Nick); his aunts, Jean Forstrom (Bruce) and Carol Cain; his brother-in-law Duane Sawyer (Melissa); and his pet Lilly.

Through the gift of organ donation, his legacy lives on by giving others a second chance at life.
