We bid farewell to Susan T. Shimkowitz of Crystal Falls, Michigan, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 8, 2025 at the age of 75. Susan touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Eckola and Marjorie Eckola (Holkup); her brother David Eckola (Linda); her uncles, Francis "Bud" Holkup and George Holkup; her aunt Marion Holkup; and her grandson Devon Read.
She is survived by: her husband Elliot Shimkowitz; her son Derik Read of Crystal Falls; her stepsons, Louis Shimkowitz (Lisa) of Berlin, CT and Aaron Shimkowitz of Newington, CT; and her nephew Christopher Eckola. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren, a great-grandson and numerous cousins.
