She was predeceased by: her parents, William Garfield and Marion Garfield (Bostwick); and her daughter Erin Cooper. She is survived by: her husband Rodney "Rod" Nelson of Curtis; her sons, Greg (Jessica) of Cedar Springs and Tim (Sarah) of Grand Rapids; her stepchildren, Derek (Stephanie) of Fargo, N. Dakota and Benn (Katrina) of New Hope, Minnesota; and her brother Bill Garfield (Pam) of Emmaus, Pennsylvania.. She is also survived by nine granchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the Curtis Baptist Church in her loving memory.
