He was predeceased by : his parents, Doreno Massarini and Jennie Massarini (Torri); his stepfather Ed McDaniel; his sister Jane Massarini; his brother-in-law Robert Butler; his parents-in-law, Doris and Leonard Zielsdorf; and his siblings-in-law, Tom Zielsdorf and Carole Rasmussen.

He is survived by : his wife Susan; his children, Richard Metcalf (Sonya) of Cottage Grove, MN and Jennifer Massarini (Jeremy Eagon) of Kewaunee; his grandchildren, Alyssa Metcalf and Joseph Metcalf of Minnesota; his sister Jean Butler of Gurnee; his pets, Bella, Bailee, Autumn, Summer, Peanut, Patches and Robin; and his close friends, Rich Dumke, Anthony Nazarowski (Uncle Tony), Margaret Raboin and Jane Raygo.
