He was predeceased by: his parent Joyce Shaw (Gallippo); his parents-in-law, Maryann LeMieux (Roger) and William Flanery (Jaqueline); his children, Bryce Nelson and Ashley Furgerson; and his brothers-in-law, Roger DeForest and Christian Flanery.
He is survived by: his wife Holly Nelson; his sons, Justin Nelson (Katie) and Robert Furgerson; his grandchildren, Nicholas Chavers, Savannah Powell (Abe), Caden Nelson and Nikoli Nelson; his sisters, Victoria Micovich (Charles), Pamela DeForest and Dorothy Huddleston (Donald); his pets, Frankie and Tony; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Flanery (Kathie), Joel LeMieux, Lana LeMieux and Jennifer Flanery. He is also survived by other loving family members and good friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Allen Funeral Home (9136 Davison Rd, Davison, MI 48423). A burial will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Great Lakes National Cemetery (4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI 48442).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clarkston American Legion Chief Pontiac Post #377 or Davison VFW Post #4087, in Doug's memory.
