He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Carol L. Dowsett; his children, Melissa Latner (John), Tiffany Belford (Ken) and Jimmy Dee Dowsett (Whitney); his sons-in-law, Jim Maxwell and Michael Zappan; his grandchildren, Caroline Maxwell, Madeline Newsome (Nick), Taylor Latner, Evan Latner, Maggie Latner, James Dee Dowsett III, Samantha Belford, Morgan Samples (Hogan) and Jacob Belford (Madison); his sisters, Mary Jane Lenon (Herb) and Nancy Lutz (Tom); his daughter Melinda of Heaven's Gate; his brother John "Jack"; and his parents, Don Dowsett and Emilie Dowsett. He was also cherished by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
