He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Ellis and Palomino Ellis; and his brother John Ellis. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ellis; his children, Jennifer Lynn (Jim), Joel Ellis and Joy Jackson; his grandchildren, Christopher, Rebecca, Benjamin, Delaney, Samantha and Brady; his great grandchild Emma Rose; his sister Kathy Loewen (David); his cousin Judy Turgeon; and his pet Tanner.
