He was predeceased by: his parents, John M. Tonko and Margaret Tonko (Janezich); his brother James Tonko; and his wife Ming Tonko. He is survived by: his children, Sara Chase (Walter), Margot Hughes (Tom Lesondak), Peter Tonko (Judy) and Michael Tonko; and his grandchildren, Samuel Chase, Madeline Chase, Teagan Hughes, Matthew Tonko and Saffron Tonko.
