She was predeceased by : her parents, John Stanger and Monica Stanger; her husband John C. Powell; her sister-in-law Marjorie; and her brothers, John and Denny.

She is survived by : her sons, John (Mary), Stephen (Alice) and Robert (Karen); her close friend Sally Roberts; and her nephew Aaron. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
