He was predeceased by : his parents, Thomas Mickey and Patricia Somerville; and his stepfather Carl Fullerton. He is survived by : his wife Mary Ann Mickey (Rivard); his children, Kristen Chinery (Brian) and Aaron Mickey (Melissa Allen); and his grandchildren, Molly Chinery, Kendal Mickey and Abel Mickey.

Due to severe allergies, the family requests donations to The Wounded Warrior Project in lieu of live flowers or plants.
