He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Melton and Wanda Melton; his daughter Kimberly Dean; his former wife Sharon Melton; his fiancé Robin Connelly; and his siblings, Debbie, Edward Johnson, Ricky Melton, Randy Melton and Lawanna Dean.
He is survived by: his children, Gary William Melton Jr. (Summer) and Tina Hayner; and his grandchildren, Gary III, Hailey, Jackson, Noah, Zachary, Nicholas, Paige, Lily, Alfred, Alaynna and Pearl. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
