He is survived by: his wife Doris; his sons, John [Paula] Matthews, Steven [Diane] Matthews and Philip Matthews; his grandchildren, Allison Matthews, Jessica [Chris] Newton, Sarah [Joel] Haynie and Rachel [Stephen] Mis; and his great grandchildren, Liam and Carter Newton. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
