We are sad to announce that, on December 7, 2021, at the age of 85, Joseph Zakem (Dearborn, Michigan) passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joseph Zakem to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his brothers, Edward, James, Tofic and Ralph; and his siblings-in-law, Meran and Don.

He is survived by: his son Zachary; his wife Doris (Sarafian); and his siblings-in-law, Amo Sarafian and Ani Sarafian. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations are to St Sarkis Armenian Church or C.S. Mott Children Hospital.

“Sincere condolences to the Zakem family at the passing of Joe Zakem. As a nearly 60-year friend of Lorna's and the Jim & Barbara Zakem family, I would like to say what a great honor it has been to know this loving and friendly family. I remember the delicious meals prepared by Grandma Amelia Zakem including grape leaves she grew herself. My first introduction to delicious lamb shish kebab was at a large Zakem family gathering where I first met Joe and Doris. Rest in Peace, Joe. Love, Peggy M.”
