He was predeceased by: his son Walter Michael; his parents, Walter and Myrtle; and his sister Kathleen. He is survived by: his wife Marie; his nieces and nephews, Scott (Paula), Laura (Jason), Erin, Lisa, Tim (Mary) and Stacy; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Taron, Riann, Dylan, Leah, Mila, Jacob, Anna and Ben; and his siblings-in-law, Thomas Svitkovich (Sharon) and JoAnn Christensen (late Phillip).
Donations in Walt's honor will support the Forbes Institute for Cancer Discovery Fund at the University of Michigan, Michigan Medicine.
