We bid farewell to Elayne Elizabeth Roose of Detroit, Michigan, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 19, 2024 at the age of 94. Elayne Elizabeth touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Marie Julia Snyder and Charles Laurent Roose; and her son Gregory VonderHaar. She is survived by: her husband Dr. William VonderHaar; her children, Dr. Lisa VonderHaar (Tom), Dr. Denys VonderHaar (Ron), Mark VonderHaar (Myrna), Niel VonderHaar, Julie VonderHaar (Jim), Kurt VonderHaar and Franz VonderHaar; her siblings, Hedat (Jimmie), Timnit (Mehari) and Afeworki (Selam); and her friend Jeannie Younger. She is also survived by children produced eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Elayne also asked that memorial donations be made to Doctors Without Borders or St. Vincent de Paul Louisville.
