He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Elizabeth Vontress and Sam Travis; and his sister Johnnie Belle Coates. He is survived by: his wife Diane Greer-Travis; his children, Cheryl Travis, Eugenia McClain, Janet Coleman (Frank) and Chitranjan Greer-Travis; his grandchildren, Isa Thomas, Eugene Travis, Muhammad Jasper, Mark Mitchell, Ernest Jasper, Ayanna Jasper and Kiera Carpenter; his great grandchildren, Muhammad, Harmonie Travis, Jayden Jasper and Bryce Jasper (Brycie-Bryce); and his siblings-in-law, Delores Greer-Stevens, Betty Porter and Alonzo Greer Jr. (Yvonne).

Viewing was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Purse Funeral Home (2959 N Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI 49221). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Warren AME Church (915 Collingwood Blvd, Toledo, OH 43604). A graveside service was held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Elmwood Cemetery (1200 Elmwood St, Detroit, MI 48207).
