He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter J. L. and Marion Ray (Tate); his wife Mary Elizabeth Ray (Pearse); and his brother Thomas W. Ray. He is survived by: his daughters, Carol Hicks (David), Nancy Ray and Mary J. Ray; and his nieces and nephews, Walter Ray (Janet), Thomas Ray (Sandy), Kathy LaFayette (Larry), Susan Miles (Joe), Laurie Hudgins (Steve) and Mara Burke (Rich).
