It is with great sadness that we announce the death of June Koon of Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on June 17, 2024, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of June Koon to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her daughter Diana Koon; her parents, Luke Hardy and Lela Hardy; her sister Betty Oliver; and her in-laws, Tip and Clara Koon.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Collins (Maury Kittle), Michael Koon (Jean) and Liz Hoisington (Dave); her grandchildren, Bob Collins, Susan Biskner (John), Megan Willey (Darrel), Brandi Allen (Elizabeth), Scott Harvey (Sherry) and Tyler Hoisington; her great grandchildren, Bailey, Bryn, Chloe, Tessa, Jackie, Michelle, Alex, Mackenzie, Hunter, Nathan and Desmond; her great great grandchildren, Kadyn, Delaney, Juliette and Deacon; her stepchildren, Anne Trout (Eddie Woodyard), MIchael Bean, Joy Bean and Beth Shrivers (Mark); her stepgrandsons, Andrew Aaron, Levi and Zachary; her sister Mary Lee Michael; her husband Jim Staley; and her niece Debby Nisely.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wildflower Legacy which helps Athens areas youth to participate in extracurricular activities or The Plains Unioted Methodist Church or Athens Area Hospice.
