We announce the death of Mary C. Joki in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on September 10, 2026, at the age of 88. Mary will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Plankey and Catherine Plankey (Snyder); her siblings, George, Jim, John Plankey (Minnie) and Carol Ekdahl (Jerry); and her nephews, Gene and Keith Plankey.
She is survived by: her husband Marvin; her children, Marvin, Jr. Joki (Tina), Dean Joki (Debbie) and Tanya Giroux (Mike); her grandchildren, Jeremy Joki (Jodi), Luke Joki (Crystal), Derek Joki (Sarah), Taylor and Tanner Giroux (Rachel); her stepgrandchildren, Carrie Teser and Justin Anthony (Akayla); her great grandchildren, Azalea, Asher, Isaac Joki, Levi, Easton Joki, Sophie and Mattie Giroux; her sister-in-law Doris Plankey (George); her nieces, Michele Irwin and Andrea Glisson; and her nephew Colton Glisson.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home (400 N 3rd St, Ishpeming, MI 49849). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
