With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley Ann Bumphus (Detroit, Michigan), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 28, 2026 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmanuel Wallace and Goldie Cates Wallace; her husband Frank Bumphus; and her siblings, Andrew, Ed, Emmanuel, Samuel Wallace, Annie Mae Edward and Mable Torain.
She is survived by: her children, Sylvia Passmore of Detroit, MI., Angela Bumphus of Detroit, MI. and Frank Bumphus, Jr. of Detroit, MI.; her sisters, Eugenia Walton (James) of Roxboro, NC, Winnie Bumphus of Durham, NC and Goldie Wallace of Newberry, SC; and her sisters-in-law, Virginia Wallace, Joann Wallace of Roxboro, NC and Eugenia Wallace. She is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
