He was predeceased by: his parents, Geno Burdell Halvorson and Ada Cecilia Halvorson (Pearson); his parents-in-law, Nicholas and Catherine Streifel (Grossman); his grandparents, AJ, Mathilda Halvorson (Moen), Andrew and Cecilia Pearson (Hofstrand); his brother Kent (Larry Halvorson); his sister-in-law Fran Halvorson; his nephew Jerry Halvorson; and his aunts and uncles, Clifford, Esther Larson (Pearson), Eilert, Minnie Hermanson (Pearson), Lawton and Evelyn Miller (Halvorson).

He is survived by: his wife Mavis Streifel Halvorson; his children, Melissa Halvorson Smith (Dan) of Westphalia, MI and Brian Halvorson (Rita Thompson) of Grand Forks, ND; his grandchildren, Noah, Sarah, Joshua and Samantha Smith; and his sister-in-law Judy Halvorson King (Kent). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
