He was predeceased by: his father Charles Root; his stepmother Shirley Root; and his brother Chris Root. He is survived by: his wife Angela DeYoung; his children, Alex Root and Mariah Root (Nick Tol); his granddaughter Elodie; and his brothers, Steve, Randy, Eric, Jim and Blake. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
